Metallurgist Day!

Metallurgist Day is celebrated in Russia annually on the third Sunday of July. It is celebrated by people of a challenging and highly respected profession that has been significant throughout all times. It is no coincidence that entire epochs in human history are named after metals: the Bronze Age and the Iron Age.

Without metallurgy in our time, it is impossible to imagine the normal development of the national economy. Metallurgists create products that are necessary for defense plants, agricultural enterprises, petrochemical industry, and many other sectors.

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated metallurgists on their professional holiday on July 19.

He noted that the mining and metallurgical complex has always played an important role in Russia's history, as well as in its economic development, energy and defense potential. Workers in the metallurgical industry strengthened the country's industrial power, and the work of professionals itself enjoyed honor and respect.

"It is gratifying that the metallurgical industry demonstrates qualitative growth. Despite the difficult situation related to the spread of coronavirus, investment and construction continue in the industry... I am convinced that you will continue to work conscientiously and effectively solve the tasks set for the benefit of Russia and its citizens," Putin's congratulation states.

Happy holiday to you, dear metallurgists!
