RBI Concept Team Visit to New Mining and Processing Plant in Sverdlovsk Region

In April this year, the risk assessment team from RBI Concept visited a new mining and processing plant (MPP) in Sverdlovsk Region to conduct an audit and analysis of production risks as part of commissioning work. This visit became a key step in ensuring safety and efficiency of processes at the new facility.

Upon arrival, the team was warmly welcomed by the plant management, for which special thanks to the MPP staff! On the first day, there was a familiarization with the construction stages and preparation of the MPP for launch. Management provided detailed information about the current state of the facility and plans for commissioning work, which allowed the team to identify key points for further analysis.

Main work began from the second day, including:

• Assessment of equipment condition and readiness of key units such as crushers, mills and flotation machines.
• Analysis of technical documentation, including design documents, operating instructions and commissioning work plans.
• Interviews with personnel using PHSER methodology to identify potential problem areas and assess staff readiness to work with new equipment.

Based on the conducted analysis, the team prepared a detailed report including:

• Assessment of the state of design and working documentation.
• Analysis of construction and installation work schedule and commissioning activities.
• Compilation of an overall picture of the current state of the facility.
• Completion of technical meeting protocols and questionnaires based on interview results.
• Review of all project aspects, including organizational, regulatory and technical.

The risk assessment team's work helped the new MPP minimize risks and ensure plant launch within planned timeframes. Plant management highly appreciated the professionalism and thoroughness of RBI Concept team's approach.
